Mainstream: Communication
January 19, 2010
I hear the word on a daily basis, “did you read that blog today?” “Hey Scott, do you blog?” My response; “not yet”. I knew at some point it would happen. Kind of like kissing a girl in college. But I have no desire to “blog” just to blog. I am not sure I am interested in hearing about your cat taking a nap on its back or that you found a new way to TiVo four shows at once. And I really don’t think you would be interested in hearing from me on such monumental issues. BUT, when it comes to the life of our church at New River; Ok, now we have some things worth talking about.
Recently a long time member of New River said to me that with all that God has been doing in the church, we are really a year and half old. I saw where he was coming from. With that being said, there is a major emphasis that needs to be placed on communication within our church. With everything that is going on with the build out, Equip classes, Missions for 2010, staff changes and Elders I need an effective way to communicate some of the hot topics that are taking place here at NR. I know that I can’t share everything from the stage, because that will be the week you’re out and I don’t want you getting second hand info. I want you to hear my heart and understand the blue prints of where we are going. I hope you will take time to read up on these different issues that I will be addressing and that they will keep us all in the loop. We are a growing church here in Parker County and communication is vital for healthy body life.
Scott
