In 2001, Jarod began the journey of following Christ in ministry while serving in the US Army at Fort Hood, TX.  He is an Iraq War veteran and holds degrees from Johnson Bible College in Tennessee and Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary here in Texas. Along his journey,  Jarod has spent time leading worship and speaking for college students, retreats, and other ministry events.  In 2005, Jarod was called to ministry in Texas.  Jarod has been with the New River team since 2008.

Today Jarod serves as an Associate Pastor here at New River.  Often referred to as a “Swiss Army knife,” Jarod serves New River in various capacities.  You may see him leading worship at one of our weekend services, leading/teaching in various departments of ministry, or find him behind the scene somewhere counseling/serving our people here.  Jarod is also leading out in the process of evaluating and researching new areas of ministry here at New River.  Jarod has been married to Jennifer for 9 years and they have two children.
